Getting listed

Submit your bot

Every listing is reviewed before it goes live. Verifying that you own the bot is optional, but it earns the owner badge and lets you manage the listing.

1. Submit the listing

Log in with Telegram and open Submit Bot. You'll need:

FieldNotes
Telegram usernameThe bot's @username. It must be a real bot and not listed already.
Bot nameUp to 60 characters.
CategoryPick the one that fits best.
Supported languagesAt least one.
Short descriptionOne sentence, up to 120 characters. Shown on cards and in search.
Long descriptionUp to 1,000 characters: what it does, key commands, use cases.
TagsOptional, up to 8.
CommandsOptional. Command name and a short description each.
Bot imageOptional. Resized automatically.

You also confirm that you're allowed to list the bot and that the details are accurate. Listings that are inaccurate or misleading get rejected.

If the bot is already in the directory, you'll get a link to its listing instead. Claim it rather than submitting it again.

2. Verify ownership

Right after submitting, or later from your dashboard, you can prove you control the bot. Your bot sends a one-time code to our verifier bot; Telegram tells us which bot sent it, so it's the same proof as showing us the token, without the token leaving your hands.

  1. Press Get verification code. You get a code like tglist-ABCD2345, valid for 15 minutes.
  2. In @BotFather, open your bot's settings and turn on Bot-to-Bot Communication Mode.
  3. Have your bot send the code to @tgl_official_bot. The simplest way is one request from your machine:
curl "https://api.telegram.org/bot<YOUR_BOT_TOKEN>/sendMessage?chat_id=@tgl_official_bot&text=tglist-ABCD2345"

The page updates on its own once the message arrives. If the code expires, get a new one.

Changing the bot's username later resets verification. The listing shows as unverified until you verify again.

Claiming a bot someone else listed

Anyone can suggest a bot, so yours may already be in the directory. Open Claim your bot, find it, and complete the same verification. The listing then moves to your dashboard. Official Telegram bots can't be claimed.

Your listing page

Listings live at /bots/your-bot-username (underscores become hyphens). Link to it from your bot, for example in a /vote command, so users can find it and vote.

Votes and ranking

Logged-in users can upvote a bot once every 24 hours. Votes, reviews and usage feed the Top and Trending lists. To give users something back for voting, see Vote rewards.

Analytics

Each listing has an Analytics tab in the dashboard with page views, opens and votes over time.
